David G. Foster, 61, of Carrier Mills, IL died Tuesday April 12, 2011 at 12:36 am at Harrisburg Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Friday April 15. 2011 at 1 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 pm. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery and Reverend Clifford Clark will officiate. Military rites will be held by the Carrier Mills and Harrisburg American Legions and the National Guard Ritual Team. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. He was born on May 4 1949 in Hardin County, IL to the late James Lionel Foster and Alda Mae (Wilbanks) Foster whom survives. He married Cora Mae McDermott on June 28, 1974 and she survives. He worked as a mechanic and many other things for over 20 years at Rister Brothers Equipment. He was an Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. He is survived by his wife: Cora Mae Foster of Carrier Mills, IL; mother: Alda Harris of Harrisburg, IL; 2 sons: Don Stewart of Carrier Mills, IL and Bill Foster of Evansville, IN; granddaughter: Kirsten Travelstead of Carrier Mills, IL; 4 brothers: Dan (Cindy) Foster of Boise, Idaho; Peter (Betty) Foster of Brazil. IN; Terry Foster and James Harris both of Harrisburg, IL; 3 sisters: Sue Campbell and Della Roberson both Harrisburg, IL and Darlene McQueen of Cleveland, OH; special niece: Kassie Lynn Condife. He was preceded in death by his father: James Lionel Foster; stepfather: Raymond Harris; daughter: Tommie Lynn Stewart; brother: Mike Foster and father and mother in law: Leo and Mary McDermott.
