Betty Rose Crawford

Betty Rose Crawford, 85, of Columbia, TN formerly of Ledford, IL died Monday May 23, 2011 at her residence. Graveside services will be held Friday May 27, 2011 at 1 pm at Ledford Cemetery. There will be no visitation; all friends should go directly to the cemetery. Reverend Harl Cockrum will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Kids Fighting AIDS Organization, 317 W. Eighth Street, Columbia, TN 38401. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL is in charge of arrangements. She was born on August 27, 1925 in West Frankfort, IL to the late John and Gertrude (Batters) Smith. She married Alton Tommy Crawford on August 8, 1945 and he preceded in death on January 15, 1992. She was a homemaker and attended St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Columbia, TN. She traveled with her son and daughter in law as they worked with the Kids Fighting AIDS Organization. She is survived by a son: Richard (Barbara) Crawford of Columbia, TN; Grandchildren: Harold (Mary) Crawford of St. Louis, MO; Kimberly (Randy) Harvel of Lone Oak, AR; Angela (Jeff) Thomas of Wilmington, IL; Valerie (Dan) Knight of LaFarge, WI; Richard Crawford Jr., Victoria Crawford, Leticia Crawford, Erica Crawford and Steven Crawford all of Columbia, TN; Special Friend: Tracy Staggs; 13 Great Grandchildren and 19 Great Great Grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 2 Grandsons: Shaffin Crawford and Robert Crawford.
