Helen Ruth Sherrod

Helen Ruth Sherrod, 83, of RT. 1 Rosiclare, IL died Friday September 16, 2011 at 5:50 PM at her residence. Funeral Services will be held Monday September 19, 2011 at 12 noon at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Monday after 10 am until service time. Reverend Harold Miller will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills, IL. She was born on May 17, 1928 in Carrier Mills, IL to the late Freeman Harris and Viola (Moore) Clements. She married James Sherrod on February 10, 1952 and he survives. She worked at General Motors and at the police department in Oxford, MI before retiring. She attended Honeycomb Church of God and was a past matron of the Order of Eastern Star. She was blessed with many talents and hobbies, such as cake decorating, sewing and cooking. She is survived by her husband: James Sherrod of Rosiclare, IL; daughter: Dixie (Todd) Knouse of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Grandaughter: Sarah Knouse of Cedar Rapids, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, and Stepfather: Robert Clements.
