Frankie L. Vineyard, 80 of 429 North Thompson Street, Carrier Mills, IL died Monday January 16, 2012 at 9:29 am at Harrisburg Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held Friday January 20, 2012 at 11 am at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 8 pm. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery with Military Rites by the Carrier Mills and Harrisburg American Legions and the National Guard Ritual Team. Reverend Bob Colburn and Reverend Darrell Simon will officiate. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. He was born on May 19, 1931 in Carrier Mills, IL to the late Alf and Ina (Nunn) Vineyard. He married the former Eva Charlene Riggs on August 18, 1956 in Flint, MI. He was a member of the Harrisburg Church of Christ. He was a General Motors Retiree, working in many departments during his career. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and Vietnam War as well as being in the reserves for many years. He is survived by his wife: Eva Charlene Vineyard of Carrier Mills, IL; 2 Daughters: Deb (Roy) Pruitt of Flint, MI and Diane (Joe) Gatton of Lapeer, MI; Son: Keith (Terra) Vineyard of Harrisburg, IL; 7 Grandchildren: Amanda and Becky Pruitt, Nathan, Heather and Noah Gatton, Colton and Hailey Vineyard; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a Brother: Herbert L. “Pete” Pyle and 3 Sisters: Maxine Smith, Margaret Ziy and Freda Gentry.
