Cecil L. Cole, 77, of 501 East Washington Street, Carrier Mills, IL died Friday February 3, 2012 at 11:20 am at the home of his son in Herrin, IL. Funeral services will be held Saturday February 11, 2011 at 1 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Saturday after 10 am until service time. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery near Carrier Mills, IL and Reverend Mike Cole and Reverend Ownly Williams will officiate. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. He was born on April 13, 1934 in Carrier Mills, IL to the late Ward and Lillian (Lyles) Cole. He married Betty (Jackson) Cole and she preceded in death in 1973. He was a graduate of Carrier Mills High School and a retired brick layer. He was a member of the Harvest Deliverance Center Church in Harrisburg, IL He was the founder and member of the Carrier Mills Sportsman Club. He is survived by 2 Daughters: Vera (Garrison) Newsom of Chicago, IL and Rosalyn Dunson of Rockford, IL; 2 Sons: Mark (Patti) Cole and Cameron (Emily) Cole; Brother: Clifford Cole of Rockford, IL; 3 Sisters: Claretta Williams of Carrier Mills, IL; Clesta Williams of Freeport, IL and Mary Willis of Kankakee, IL and 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife: Betty Cole; 4 Brothers: Clyde Cole, James Cole, Isaac Cole and David Cole; and 3 Sisters: Gladys Allen, Nita Grey and Lula Orie.
