David K. Whiting, 56, of 170 Lincoln Street; Stonefort, IL died Monday October 29, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Thursday November 1, 2012 at 1 pm at the Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church. Visitation will be held Thursday after 10 am at the church until service time. Reverend Aaron Phelps and Reverend Steve Dunn will officiate. Burial will be at the Bolton-Trammel Cemetery in Stonefort, IL. Memorials may be made to the Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church, envelopes will be available. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. He was born on November 27, 1955 in Harrisburg, IL to Ronald and Marjorie (Gurley) Whiting. He married the former Pam Hall on April 1, 1975. He was a graduate of Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School where he was employed for many years as the Head Custodian until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; he also loved playing with his grandchildren whom affectionately referred to him as “Bop”. He also attended the Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church. He is survived by his wife: Pam Whiting of Stonefort, IL; parents: Ron & Marjorie Whiting of Ozark, IL; 2 Sons: Jason (Ashly) Whiting of Stonefort, IL and Joe (Katie) Whiting of Harrisburg, IL; brother: Jeff (Jane) Whiting of Galatia, IL; 2 Sisters; Rhonda (Keith) Teal of New Burnside, IL and Sondra (Kevin) Hefner of St. Charles, MO; 3 grandchildren: Macie Whiting, Miley Whiting and Emma Grace Whiting.
