John G. Rose, 68, of 9476 Battleford Road, Stonefort, IL died Saturday May 11, 2013 at 2:45 pm at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, IL. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday May 15, 2013 at 10 am at Simmons Cemetery near Creal Springs, IL, all friends should go directly to the cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm at the Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Reverend Darrell Ford will officiate. He was born on April 2, 1945 to the late John Henry Rose and Thelma Lorene (Atherton) Rose whom survives. He married Shirley Newbold on December 27, 1969 and she survives. He worked at J.W. Reynolds Monument Co installing monuments for 42 years before retirement. He loved his dogs, he loved hunting, fishing and “Ratting around as he called it” (riding around). He is survived by his Wife: Shirley Rose of Stonefort, IL; Mother: Thelma Rose of Creal Springs, IL; Daughter: Tonya Ham of Harrisburg, IL; 2 Sons: John Walker of Carrier Mills, IL; and Ricky Walker of Central City, KY.; 3 Sisters: Marjorie Horn, Katy Newbold and Patty Hunt all of Creal Springs, IL; 8 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Father: John Henry Rose; Daughter: Carla Deaton; and Niece: Lisa Glenn.
