James “Jim” T. Reeves, 68, of 310 Oak Street, Carrier Mills, IL died Sunday May 12, 2013 at 4:30 pm at Parkway Manor in Marion, IL. Funeral services will held Thursday May 16, 2013 at 10 am at the Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm at the church. Reverend Aaron Phelps will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery will military rites by Carrier Mills American Legion Post 364, Harrisburg American Legion Post 167 and the Army National Guard Ritual Team. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL and is in charge of arrangements. He was born on January 20, 1945 in Harrisburg, IL to the late Dan and Louise (Dallas) Reeves. He married Paula Hall on May 29, 1970 and she survives. He worked at Sahara Coal Mines until their closure and was employed at Bombardier Boat Factory for the past 15 years. He was a graduate a 1963 graduate of Carrier Mills/Stonefort High School; a US Navy Veteran and attended Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church, but what he was most proud of was his kids and grandkids. He is survived by his Wife: Paula Reeves of Carrier Mills, IL; 3 Children: Christy (Richard) Clark of Harrisburg, IL, Benjie (Abbey) Reeves of Carrier Mills, IL, and Allison (Eric) VanZant of Eldorado, IL; Brother: Danny Reeves of Salem, IL; 2 Sister In Laws: Karen Reeves of Carrier Mills, IL and Pam Whiting of Stonefort, IL; Brother In Law: Ron Hall of Carrier Mills, IL; Aunt: Genell Hankins of Morris, IL: 6 Grandchildren: Hayley (Aaron) Marks, Braydon VanZant, Kagen VanZant, Cydnee VanZant, Jacob Reeves and Matthew Reeves; 1 Great Grandchild: Baby Marks due in October and several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by a Brother: Rodger Reeves.
