Aaron Lee Kidd, 95, of 85 Kidd Road, Carrier Mills, IL; died Wednesday May 15, 2013 at 6:45 am at Harrisburg Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held Saturday May 18, 2013 at 11 am at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 pm. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery near Carrier Mills, IL with Military Rites by Carrier Mills American Legion Post 364, Harrisburg American Legion Post 167 and the Army National Guard Ritual Squad. Reverend Mark Finnie will officiate. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Lee was born on July 12, 1917 in Johnson County, IL to the late Burton & Maude (Bridges) Kidd. Lee lived most of his life around Carrier Mills, IL, he owned and operated Kidd Transfer with his brother, Albert Kidd for many years. He also hauled water to countless families for many years as well as he was Carrier Mills Township Road Commissioner for over 30 years. He was a World War II Army Veteran and member of the Carrier Mills American Legion. He is survived by 2 Sons: William “Bill” (Charline) Kidd and Arthur (Brenda) Kidd both of Carrier Mills, IL; 4 Grandchildren: Stacey (Shane) Miller; Marcy (Britt) Martin both of Carrier Mills, IL; Nikki Kidd of Chicago, IL and Michael (Beth) Kidd of Stonefort, IL; 4 Step Grandchildren: Carolyn (Darrell) Osman of Harrisburg, IL; Donnie (Kara) Rash of Ozark, IL; Tammy (Mike) Stone of Carrier Mills, IL and Sherri (Ronnie) Samples of Kansas; Sister In Law: Beulah May Kidd of Carrier Mills, IL; several great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a Son: James “Jim” Kidd; 2 Grandchildren: Susan Lynn Kidd and Phillip Aaron Kidd; 2 Brothers: Robert Kidd and Albert Kidd and 2 Sisters: Margaret Swan and Violet Cosgrove.
