Carren "Kiki" Orene Barnes

July 13, 1974 — September 8, 2013

Carren “Kiki” Orene Jackson Barnes entered the world, kicking and screaming, on Saturday, July 13th, 1974 at 3:52 p.m. and departed it on Sunday, September 8th 2013. She was the youngest child of Carl Hudson Jackson and Renita Frances Jackson (Martin) and was adored and loved, as such, by both. The kicking and screaming did not stop on the day of her birth, Carren was a force and would fight passionately for what she knew was right and for her family. She had an unconditional and immense love for all children and would not hesitate to invite them into her home for as long as they needed to be there. Many children and teens, who she referred to as her extra kids, have spent time in her home and care. She was always willing to help anyone in a time of need. Carren will be sorely missed by her children, whom she loved and cherished and were the pride and joy of her existence, Brandon Curran Futch and Noah Carl Hudson Jackson and the man she loved and spent the last 14 years of her life with, Uriah Barnes. She also leaves behind three sisters and four brothers Lucy Dunn of DeSoto, Gina Dunn Goines of Vienna and Sara Dunn of Mt. Vernon IN, Mark (Tina) Dunn, Fred Jackson, Steve Jackson all of Harrisburg and Kevin Jackson of Idaho, nieces and nephews Seth (Mariah Goedelmann) Dunn, Amanda Scott, Daniele (Bryan) Smothers, Wesley Scott, Jeffrey Siler, Valerie Jones, Jordan Burpo, Eliza Goines, Bobbie Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, John Barnes, Roger Barnes, Aaron Barnes, Zane Amley, Yasmina Amley, Zack Amley, Zainah Amley, great nieces and nephews Hayley Jones, Adrianna Scott, Kaydence Dunn, Hayden Smothers, Joshua Jones, and special friend Noah Hall, Sisters in law Jane (Wendell) Bradley, Christina Amley, brother in law Steve (Dee) Barnes, mother in law Brenda Kay Barnes, many aunts, uncles, cousins, extra kids and many friends. She was so loved and we will forever feel the void in our lives. Carren loved going to the woods, as she called it. She would take her hammock out and disappear for days into the woods with a book. She enjoyed spending time around a campfire, hiking and time with her family. She also loved midnight movie premieres with her boys, nieces, nephews and extra kids, oatmeal crème pies, the music of her longtime friend Heath Holloman, the music and members of Metal Toyz and 30aut6. Last, but certainly not least, she had a lifelong love of Jon BonJovi, both the man and his music. She is preceded in death by her wonderful parents Carl Hudson Jackson and Renita Frances (Martin) Jackson, whom she never stopped missing, two brothers Randy Trusty and Bobby Ray Jackson, her paternal grandparents, Curran and Tulip Jackson, her maternal grandparents Oren and Helen Martin and a beloved niece Heather Mitchell.
