Vivien N. Slagus, 86, of 145 Naugle Road, Galatia, IL died Tuesday January 7, 2014 at 4:45 am at the Shawnee Rose Care Center in Harrisburg, IL. Funeral services will be held Thursday January 9, 2014 at 1 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Thursday from 11 am until service time. Burial will be in Bankston Cemetery north of Carrier Mills, IL. Reverend Bobby Gentry will officiate. Memorial may be mad to the Shawnee Rose Care Center, envelopes will be available at the funeral home. She was born on February 17, 1927 in Williamson County, IL to the late Albert and Nancy (Huckleby) Burchell. She was a retired certified nursing assistant where she worked many years at the Saline Care Center in Harrisburg, IL. She loved fishing, gardening and being close to her little homestead. She attended the River of Life Church in Harrisburg, IL. She is survived by 3 Daughters: Sandra Williams, Carol Grider, and Phyllis Belford all of Galatia, IL; 10 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
