Doris Jean Crowder

Doris Jean Crowder, 89, of 732 North Mill Street, Carrier Mills, IL died Wednesday June 4, 2014 at 9:40 am at her residence. Graveside services will be held Friday June 6, 2014 at 1 PM at Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills, IL. There will be no public visitation all friends should meet at the cemetery. Reverend Joe Daniels will officiate. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL have been entrusted with the arrangements. She was born on March 21, 1925 in Carrier Mills, IL to the late Gus and Beatrice (Harris) McDonald. She married Harry Crowder in October of 1949 and he preceded in death on May 14, 2004. She graduated Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL with a Bachelors Degree. She began teaching at Carrier Mills/Stonefort High School where she taught for 38 years. She is survived by 2 Sons: Brad (Angie) Crowder of Carrier Mills, IL and Brent (Lisa Henson) of Carrier Mills, IL; 5 Grandchildren: Casey Crowder, C.J. Crowder, Jonah Crowder, Kayla Crowder and Gus Crowder and 1 Great Granchild: Briella Crowder and Daughter In Law: Jane Crowder of Harrisburg, IL. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband: Harry Crowder and Infant Son: Gregory Lee Crowder.
