Fern Etta Mitchell, 64, 530 North America Road, Galatia, IL died Thursday August 7, 2014 at 2:30 pm at her residence. Funeral Services will be held Monday August 11, 2014 at 1 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Monday after 10 am until service time. Burial will be in North America Cemetery. Reverend Bobby Gentry will officiate. Memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses, envelopes will be available at the funeral home. She was born on December 24, 1949 in Malden, Mo to the late James Oral and Anna Deloris (Williams) Jordan. She married Barney Lee Mitchell on June 7, 1969 in East St. Louis, IL and he survives. Fern enjoyed playing games, working puzzles, traveling and spending quality time with her family. She attended the River Of Life Church in Harrisburg. IL. She is survived by her Husband: Barney Lee Mitchell of Galatia; Son: Barney (Erin) Mitchell II of Raleigh, IL; Granddaughter and Her Fiancee: Bianca Mitchell and J.R. Brown of Harrisburg, IL; Grandson: Cameron Mitchell of Raleigh, IL; Great Granddaughter: Tessalin Brown of Harrisburg, IL; 2 Step Granddaughters: Alyssa Cox and Savannah Cox; 3 Sisters: Loretta Turley of Redbud, IL; Kay (Jess) Kirkley of Waterloo, IL and Yuvonne (Bob) Wood of Greenville, MO; Brother: Jerry (Marilyn) Jordan of Lenzburg, IL; 2 Sister In Laws: Bobbe Tabor of Eldorado, IL and Cheryl (Ernie) Goematt of Harrisburg, IL; 2 Brother In Laws: Tony (Jamie) Mitchell of Golconda, IL and Patrick (Teresa) Mitchell of Harrisburg, IL; several nieces, nephews and a very loving community of special neighbors on North America Road. She was preceded in death by her parents and a Sister: Elberta Pinkard and a Brother In Law: Bill (Rocky) Mitchell.
