Freda L. (Dowdy) Reeves, 90, of Freeburg, IL formerly of Carrier Mills, IL died Wednesday September 10, 2014 at the Freeburg Care Center. Graveside services for cremated remains will be held Saturday September 13, 2014 at 1 pm at Palestine Cemetery south of Carrier Mills, IL. Reverend John Neece will officiate. There will be no visitation, all friends should go directly to the cemetery. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL has been entrusted with the arrangements. She was born on June 21, 1924 in the Battleford Community in Saline County, IL to the late Aza and Carrie (Dunn) Dowdy. She worked for many years at the Anna Hospital in Anna, IL. She is survived by a Son: Marvin (Debra) Moore of Columbia, IL; Brother: Norman Dowdy of Racine, WI; and 2 Sisters: Shirley Simmons of Gary, IN and Joyce Cook of Harrisburg, IL and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Clyde Dowdy and John Logan “J.L.” Dowdy and 2 Sisters: Demple Dowdy and Floetta Diefenbach.
