Mary Catherine “Katie” Hunt, 72, of Carrier Mills, IL died Saturday September 13, 2014 at 3:05 pm at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. Funeral Services will be held Thursday September 18, 2014 at 2 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL, visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm and Thursday from 12 noon until service time. Burial will be in Coal Bank Springs Cemetery and Reverend Matt Troxel will officiate. Memorials May be made to the Coal Bank Springs Cemetery, envelopes will be available at funeral home. She was born on March 28, 1942 in Crab Orchard, IL to the late Frank and Opal (Tanner) Turner. She married John Hunt on June 6, 1970 and he preceded in death on July 19, 1986. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend; she loved spending time with her family. She attended Bethel Baptist Church. She is survived by a Daughter and Son In Law: Allie and Jeremy Norris of Marion, IL; Stepson: Ricky (Brenda) Pegg and family of Ripley, TN; Sister and Brother In Law: Molly and Bill Dunn of Carrier Mills, IL; Brother: David Turner of Nappa, CA; Several Nieces and nephews including 2 Special Nieces: Kim Edwards and Teresa Horton amd a Brother In Law: James (Patty) Hunt of Creal Springs, IL. She was also know as “Nanny” to a special little girl: Jordan Turner. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband: John Hunt and Brother: Herman Earl Turner.
