Alphonso Taylor

Alphonso Taylor, 69, of 330 East Raymond Street, Harrisburg, IL died Saturday November 15, 2014. Memorial services will be held Monday November 24, 2014 at 11 am at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Monday after 10 am until service time. Reverend Walter Banks and Reverend Ownly Williams will officiate. Military will be performed at the funeral home by Carrier Mills American Legion, Harrisburg American Legion and the Army National Guard Ritual Team. He was born on June 22, 1945 in Saint Louis, Missouri to the late Paul and Magnolia (Steward) Taylor. He married Mary Williams on July 3, 2013 and she survives. He worked at many things during his lifetime including landscaping and construction work. He was a Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his Wife: Mary Taylor of Harrisburg, IL; 6 Children: Alvina Beamon and Alfreda Yarborough both of Chicago, IL; Kim Phillips, Pauline Taylor, Tamara Phillips and Alphonso Phillips all of Anniston, AL; 3 Stepchildren: Marilyn Gardner, Brian Williams and Babbs Phillips; 3 Brother-In-Laws: Willis (Vickie) Williams of Harrisburg, IL, Gerald (Christine) Williams of Chicago, IL and John (Marilyn) Williams of Houston, TX; Sister-In-Law: Erma Montgomery of Chicago, IL; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
