Ja Shawn Jamal Tate, 21, of 508 East Washington Street; Carrier Mills, IL died Thursday March 26, 2015 as the result of a house fire. Funeral services will be held Sunday March 29, 2015 at 1 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Sunday from 11 am until service time. Pastor Louis James will officiate and burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to help with funeral expenses, envelopes will be available at the funeral home. He was born on August 23, 1993 in Herrin, IL to Mark Tate and Tonya (Davis) Tate whom both survive. Other survivors include: 3 Brothers: Tevin Tate of Carrier Mills, IL, Adam Tate and Blake Tate both of Harrisburg, IL; Sister: Ebony Tate of Harrisburg, IL; Grandmother: Mary M. Day of Carrier Mills, IL; Niece: Delia Tate of Stonefort, IL; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
