Georgia Joan Johnson, 80, of 284 Route 166, Creal Springs, IL died Sunday July 19, 2015 at 6:00 pm at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, Elmhurst, IL Funeral services will be held Friday July 24, 2015 at 11 am at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL; Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery near Creal Springs, IL. She was born on August 13, 1934 in Creal Springs, IL to the late Joseph Arlie and Maime Marie (Benedict) Tanner. She married Billy Gene Johnson and he preceded in death in 1991. She was retired from Hostess Cakes where she worked many years making Twinkies. She loved sitting outside enjoying nature or just taking a ride through the country. She was a member of Cana Baptist Church near Creal Springs, IL She is survived by her Son: Rick (Carol) Johnson of Elmhurst, IL; Daughter: Kathy Hoppe of Hillside, IL; Sister: Virginia Johnson of Carrier Mills, IL; 3 Brothers: Gene Tanner of Creal Springs, IL; Dick (Pat) Tanner of Elmhurst, IL and Charlie (Lynn) Tanner of New Burnside, IL; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Husband: Billy Gene Johnson and a Brother: Johnny Deon Tanner.
