Vickie Diane Shaw

Vickie Diane Shaw, 59, of 206 East Furlong Street, Carrier Mills, IL died Friday September 4, 2015 at 12:19 am at her residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 9, 2015 at 11 am at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 to 7 pm. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Lounita Mitchell will officiate. She was born on November 3, 1955 in Flint, Michigan to the late Alton “Dubbie” and Margaret (Mason) Blackwell. She married Melvin Shaw in June of 1972 and he survives. Other survivors include: 2 Daughters: Cherry (Damon) Drue and Michelle Shaw both of Carrier Mills, IL; Son: Jeremiah (Alisha) Shaw of Harrisburg, IL; 5 Grandchildren: Victoria Gross, Cheriaca Huntley, Gabriella Huntley, Aidan Shaw and Joshua Keene; 2 Sisters: Debra Blackwell-Rogers of San Antonio, TX and Annette Blackwell-Jarrett of Flint, Michigan, Brother: Gregory Blackwell of Flint, MI; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a Brother: Michael Blackwell. She was a awesome woman of God, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She fought the good fight of faith, holding fast to the promises of God until the very end. Her favorite scripture was Romans 8:37... No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. We give thanks and honor to God for the time he allowed us to share with her. She is deeply loved and truly missed.
