Shana Jo Walker, 28, of 3308 Dillmus Drive, Powder Springs, GA formerly of Carrier Mills, IL died Saturday October 24, 2015 at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, GA after sustaining injuries from being struck by a car. Funeral services will be held Friday October 30, 2015 at 2 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Friday from 12 noon until service time. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills, IL. Reverend Gary Simmons will officiate. She was born on October 23, 1987 at 7:54 pm at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, IL to Marcus Shane Walker and Angela Jo Hamilton. She attended K-4 At Carrier Mills Grade School before moving to Powder Springs, GA where she attended fifth through twelfth grade. She graduated from McEachern High School in 2006. She was very outgoing and enjoyed writing poetry and spending time with her family and friends. She had a protective nature not only for her 4 brothers but toward her younger cousins as well. She was to begin her new journey at Walgreens on Monday, October 26, 2015. She leaves to cherish her memory: Mother and Stepfather: Angela and Jackie Keene of Powder Springs, GA; Father: Marcus Shane Walker of Harrisburg, IL; 4 Brothers: Calen, Peyton, and Brennan Keene of Powder Springs, GA and Braden Walker of Harrisburg, IL; Grandparents: Mike and Edna Walker of Harrisburg, IL and Jack and Mildred Keene of Carrier Mills, IL; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandparents: Gary Taborn and Wilma Hamilton.
