Walter Blackwell, Jr., 84, of 1212 Oglesby Road, Harrisburg, IL died Monday February 8, 2016 at 1:07 am at his residence. Graveside services will be held Thursday February 11, 2016 at 11 am at Lakeview Cemetery in Carrier Mills, IL. There will be no visitation all friends and family should go directly to the cemetery. Reverend Ownly Williams will officiate. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL has been entrusted with the arrangements. He was born on March 16, 1931 in Harrisburg, IL to the late Walter and Nancy (Epperson) Blackwell Sr. He was a coal miner where he worked and retired from Sahara Coal Company. He was also a Army Veteran during the Korean War. He is survived by a Daughter: Diana Blackwell of Eldorado, IL; Companion: Francis Underwood of Harrisburg, IL; 3 Grandchildren: Erik Moss, Jariah Moss and Mykkandha Moss; 8 Great grandchildren and 2 Stepsons: Jeffery Blackwell of Hawaii and Steven Blackwell of California.
