Remus Earl Curry, 58, of Morganfield, KY formerly of Carrier Mills, IL departed this life on Tuesday March 1, 2016 at 8:10 pm at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, IN. His family would like for his family and friends to join in a celebration of his life at a memorial service on Monday March 7, 2016 at 6:30 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Monday after 5 pm until service time. He was born on August 18, 1957 to the late Boyd and Arletta Curry in Morganfield, KY. He married the former Pauline Taborn on August 25, 1979 and she precedded in death on December 30, 2010. He attended SIC on a basketball scholarship and earned an Associate Degree. After college he immediately started working at Earl C. Clements Job Corp Center in Morganfield, KY. He worked there for 37 years until his illness forced him to retire. He was an avid sports fan and stayed committed to his “Kentucky Wildcats”. He spent many years as a referee and umpire to the local teams in Southern Illinois. He made many friends and believed in giving kids “life lessons” and “encouraging talks” during the games. His pastimes included watching sports, horse racing and fishing. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He leaves mourn his passing: 3 Daughters: Daneille (Erik) Griffin of Harrisburg, IL; Devona (Rene) Morales of Carrier Mills, IL; DaKayla (Joe Buchanan) Curry of Marion, IL; Son: Remus Henning of Harrisburg, IL; 2 Brothers: Thomas (Elizabeth) Curry of Morganfield, KY and Mark (Janet) Curry of Henderson, KY; Sister: Shirley Curry of Henderson, KY; 8 Grandchildren: Alexis, Ashleigh, and Kaiden Griffin, Devon and Donathon Morales, Khadijah, JaQuasha and Remrniece Henning and 1 Great Grandchild: Trevon Henning. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Brother: Willie Curry and 3 Grandchildren. Remus will be laid to rest with his parents in Waverly, Kentucky.
