Lamar “Tom” Thomason, 78, of 6556 US Highway 45 South, Carrier Mills, IL died Friday March 25, 2016 at 10:15 am at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday April 2, 2016 at 2:30 PM at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1 PM until service time. Reverend David Smith will officiate. in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Deaconess Hospice, envelopes will be available at the funeral home. He was born on October 5, 1937 in Dalton, Georgia to the late Marvin Thomason and the former Ruby Capeheart. He married the former Marialice Yarber on March 3, 1979 and she survives. He was retired from AT&T where he worked as a wiring installer in each of the phone offices. He was a member of the Bankston Fork Baptist church. He is survived by his wife: Marialice Thomason of Carrier Mills, IL; 5 Children: Dawn Wilson of Cincinnati, OH; Wendy Cook of Carrier Mills, IL; Kerry Thomason of Warren, MI; Suzie Cochrane of Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada and Kristie Sharp of Carrier Mills, IL; 2 Brothers: Harold Thomason of Deerborn, MI and Marvin Thomason Jr of Dalton, GA; 19 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and Grandson: Curtis Yarber.
