Raynald Witherspoon Sr., 68, of 100 East Park Street, Harrisburg, IL died Monday May 9, 2016 at 7:00 pm at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, IN. Memorial graveside services will be held Tuesday May 17, 2016 at 11 am at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg, IL. There will be no visitation, all friends and family should come directly to the cemetery. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL is assisting the family with arrangements. He was born on July 7, 1947 in Chicago, IL to the late Joseph Cuba Witherspoon and Norma Jean (Givens) Van Cleave. He was a retired coal miner working at Peabody Eagle 2 mine near Shawneetown, IL for several years. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He is survived by 4 children: Ray Witherspoon Jr of Huntingburg, IN; Christie Keortge of Princeton, IN; Jason Witherspoon of Harrisburg, IL and Jana Witherspoon of Cape Girardeau, MO; 2 Step Children: Della Apaloo of Clarksville, TN and Jay Rollins of Statesville, IL; Brother: Brett Witherspoon of Carbondale, IL; 4 Sisters: Darlene Witherspoon and Robin Witherspoon both of Nashville, TN; Kathy Williams and Francis Van Cleave both of Carbondale, IL and 6 Grandchildren.
