Bob J. Jones Sr.

Bob J. Jones Sr. 80, of 200 Hilltop Road, Harrisburg, IL died Monday October 24, 2016 at 3:45 am at his residence. Funeral Services will be held Thursday October 27, 2016 at 1 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sunset Garden Cemetery. Reverend Howard Stearns and Reverend Roy Dale Orr will officiate. He was born on February 3, 1936 in Harrisburg, IL to the late John Jones and Emma (Reeder) Jones Bean. He married the former Shirley Owens on July 13, 1955 and she survives. Bob was a retired coal miner working most of his life at Sahara Coal Company. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carrier Mills, IL. He was a avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time with his family and hardly ever missed a sporting event his children or grandchildren was a participant. He is survived by his wife: Shirley Jones of Harrisburg, IL; 7 Children: Sherry (D.A.) Sutton of Newburgh, IN; Cindy (Kelly) Knight of Harrisburg, IL; Bob (JoAnn) Jones Jr. of Harrisburg, IL, Dickie Jones of Harrisburg, IL; Toni (Bill) Shadrick of Nebo, KY; Joni (Patrick) Saulsberry of Harrisburg, IL, and Davy (Lori) Jones of Harrisburg, IL; 14 Grandchildren: Jarred Sutton, Jeremy Sutton, Shanna Knight. Josh Knight, Lindsay Agin, Lacy Jones, Jason Jones, Shelly Molinarolo, Clint Jones, Carrie Williams, Tierra Jones, Isaiah Saulsberry, Madyson Jones and Morgan Jones; 7 Great Grandchildren: Michael Thompson, Piper Jones Knight, Ava Molinarolo, Addy Jones, Westyn Williams, Lukas Williams and Trevor Williams and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stepfather: George Bean and 2 Sisters: Leota Tucker and Martha Jones.
