Edna M. Diefenbach

Edna M. Diefenbach, 84, of Harrisburg, IL died Sunday March 19, 2017 at 2:45 pm at her residence. Funeral Services will be held Thursday March 23, 2017 at 7 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be Friday March 24, 2017 at 12:30 pm at Mounds City National Cemetery in Mounds City, IL. She was born on February 26, 1933 in Saline County, IL to the late Arville and Ethel (Hicks) Hancock. She married Norman Diefenbach on July 21, 1949 and he preceded in death on June 24, 2012. She was a very private and independent lady that enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening and watching her hummingbirds. She also loved her puzzles and good riddles. But the most important part was that she loved her family very much. She is survived by 2 Daughters: Sandy (Kevin) Obrakta of Braidwood, IL and Lenora Krause of Carrier Mills, IL; Son In Law: Richard Erickson; 4 Grandchildren: Joe Erickson, Heather Bowes, Joshua Obrakta and Kristine (Kyle) Fajardo; 6 Great Grandchildren: Alexandria Davis, Garrett Howard, Gabby Davies, Olivia Fajardo, Emerie Fajardo and Logan Fajardo; 2 Great Great Grandchildren: Jameson Davis and Samuel Davis; 2 Sisters: LaVerne Smith of Joilet, IL and Vivian Bailey of Evansville, IN; Several nieces and nephews including Judy Carver of Indiana and Leroy Diefenbach of Harrisburg, IL. She was preceded in death by her Daughter: Shirley Erickson; Granddaughter: Bonnie Howard and several brothers and sisters.
