David Floyd

David Floyd, 94, of 320 East Washington Street, Carrier Mills, IL died Sunday April 9, 2017 at 9:10 pm at his residence. His request was to be cremated. No services will be announced at this time. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL is assisting the family. He was born on May 14, 1922 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Thomas and Alice (Glenn) Floyd. He married the former Gloria Jean Evans on December 11, 1965 and she preceded in death on April 19, 2002. David was a US Army veteran serving for 24 years. He served in World War II, he did 2 tours in the Korean War and also served in Vietnam. He moved to Southern Illinois in 1978 and has lived here ever since. He is survived by 2 sons: Alfonso Floyd of Detroit, MI and David Michael Floyd Jr. of Carrier Mills, IL; 3 Stepchildren: Cheryl D. Wagner of Carrier Mills, IL, Roy L. Clark of Mesa, AZ and Elana F. Barnes of Palmetta, GA; 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his Wife: Gloria Floyd; a Son: Charles Floyd and a Brother: Thomas Floyd Jr.
