Larry Gene Mullinix

Larry Gene Mullinix, 96, resident of Shawnee Rose Center, Harrisburg, IL died Friday June 30, 2017 at 10:00 pm at his residence. Memorial graveside services will be announced at a later date. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL is assisting the family with the details. He was born on February 17, 1921 in the Ledford Community of Saline County, IL to the late Roy L. and Lillian (Parrish) Mullinix. He married the former Thelma Gregson in 1947 and she preceded in death on February 1, 1993. He was a former member of the Harrisburg Lutheran Church in Harrisburg, IL He was a Army Air Force Veteran of World War II serving from October 1942 until February 1946. He separated with a rank of Staff Sargent where he served in the 74th Bomb Squadron. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf and tennis and loved shooting his muzzeloaders. He is survived by a Brother: John R. Mullinix of Carrier Mills, IL; Several Nieces and nephews including: Larry G. Mullinix, Kent Mullinix, Steven Mullinix, Norman Parrish Mullinix, John W. Mullinix, Francis “David” Mullinix, Garry Mullinix, Jeff Mullinix, Kathie Molyneaux, Susan Adams, Rebecca Jennings Carolyn Beal, Linda Agin and Jackie Mullinix and several great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his Wife: Thelma Mullinix, 3 Brothers: Marvin Mullinix, Norman Mullinix and Francis Mullinix; Sister: Shirley Thomas; 2 Nieces: Deborah Mullinix and Betsy Grimsley and a Nephew: Mark Mullinix.
