Donald Lee Nalley, 71, of 209 South Main Street, Harrisburg, IL went to meet his Lord September 20, 2017 at 2:30 am while in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Funeral services will be held Sunday September 24, 2017 at 2 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 pm. Burial will be in New Burnside Cemetery. His son: Chad Nalley will officiate. He was born on November 7, 1945 in Perks, IL to Jasper Richard and Annie Elizabeth (Golden) Nalley He married the former Linda Schell on January 1, 1966 and she survives. He retired from the Railroad as a Track operator. Working for the NY Central, Penn Central and finally Conrail. He has been a long time resident of Harrisburg. He has been a deacon for the Baptist Saline Association since 1980. He is a home missionary while volunteering as the Food Pantry Director for the 4 C Compassion Center in Harrisburg for 25 years. He was a member of the Masons and a Shiner. He leaves behind a wife Linda of 52 years, Son and daughter in law Scot & Marita Nalley of Marion, IL Son and daughter in law Chad and Sheryl Nalley of Pittsburg, IL and granddaughter and future grandson Kendall Nalley and Russell Weaks; 2 Brothers: Ronnie (Dorothy) Nalley of Clinton, OK and Ray (Ginger) Nalley of Golconda, IL; Sister: Wanda Hunter of Vienna, IL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a Brother: Bill Nalley and 3 nephews. He dedicated his life to helping others rich, poor, troubled, or hungry for the past 30 years. He had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. He will be fondly missed by friends and family alike.
