Paul Rametta Jr.

Paul Rametta Jr, 78, died peacefully on Monday October 30, 2017 at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home. He was born in Marion, IL and was a long time resident of Goreville, IL He is survived by his loving partner of 25 years, Carolyn Smith (who he considered his wife), Daughter: Toni Rametta and her partner: Carol Hawthorne, Daughter: Tina Adams and her Husband: Larry Adams, Grandchildren: Austin, Lauren, Garrett, Andrew, and Devin whom all reside in Florida. His dogs: Jake and Jenny were the light of his life in his last years. He is preceded in death by his Son: Nick Rametta; and his parents: Paul Rametta and Violet Gamble. He worked most of his adult life with the Army Corp of Engineers/Parks Dept, and loved to talk about his time serving in the US Virgin Islands in the early 80's, where he aided in post hurricane rebuilding. He was a avid fisherman and hunter since childhood, and continued to do so up until the last year of his life. He had a larger than life personality, and you never had to wonder what he was thinking. There will be no services. His ashes will be spread at a place which brought him joy at a later date. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL is assisting the family with the local details.
