Helen Marie Gibson, 88, of 402 West Harrison Street, Carrier Mills, IL died Thursday December 14, 2017 at 7:02 pm at her residence. Funeral services will be held Monday December 18, 2017 at 11 am at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 to 6 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery and Reverend Kenneth Griffin will officiate. She was born on July 28, 1929 in Okema, OK to the late William Daniel and Betty Elizabeth (Nellie) Rippy, She married Carl Thomas Gibson on March 15, 1952. She was a former member of Herod Springs Baptist Church in Herod, IL and is now a member of the New Salem Baptist Church in Carrier Mills, IL. She enjoyed reading, working jigsaw puzzles and working in her flower gardens. She is survived by her Husband: Carl Thomas Gibson of Carrier Mills, IL; 4 Children: Donald (Debbie) Gibson of Chesapeake, VA; Sharon Gibson of Muddy, IL; William (Michele) Gibson of Galatia, IL and Nancy (Darry) Breeze of Las Vegas, NV; 5 Grandchildren and 6 Great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 8 Brothers and 2 Sisters.
