Mark Wilkins, 83, of 130 Old Town Road, Stonefort, IL died Wednesday December 20, 2017 at 5:15 pm at Marion VA Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday December 23, 2017 at 11 am at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 pm. Masonic Rites will be held at 7 pm on Friday. Reverend Ownly Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery with Military Rites by the Carrier Mills and Harrisburg American Legions and Army National Guard Ritual Team. He was born on October 27, 1934 in Pope County, IL to the late George Alfred and Peggy Jane (Hancock) Wilkins. He married the former Vickie Knowles on March 29, 1970 and she survives. He was a retired coal miner and Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was also a member of the Carrier Mills American Legion, Carrier Mills Masonic Lodge and the Creal Springs VFW. He is survived by his Wife: Vickie Wilkins of Stonefort, IL; 4 Children: Tammy (John) Roper of West Frankfort, IL; Steve (Sarah) Wilkins of Alto Pass, IL; David Wilkins of Cobden, IL and Sheri (Bobby) McCann of Alto Pass, IL; 4 Grandchildren: Amanda Wilkins and Ashley Wilkins both of Anna, IL and Lucas McCann and Adam McCann both of Alto Pass, IL; 4 Great Grandchildren, 5 Sister In Laws, and several nieces and nephews including Amy Scott and J.R. Bristow both of Carrier Mills, IL. He was preceded in death by 5 Brothers: Jim Wilkins, Carl Wilkins, Doug Wilkins, Ralph Wilkins, Wendell Wilkins and a Sister: Wanda Hart.
