Larry D. VanHoy, 75, 120 South Land Street, Harrisburg, IL died Thursday March 15, 2018 at 4:40 pm at Saline Care Center in Harrisburg, IL. Memorial services will be held Tuesday March 20, 2018 at 7 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held after 5 pm until service time. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Reverend Harl Cockrum will officiate. Memorials may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses. He was born on September 29, 1942 in Harrisburg, IL to the late John and Alma Jean (Hall) VanHoy. He married the former Judy Wells on August 31, 1963 and she preceded in death on February 27, 1998. He graduated from Carrier Mills/Stonefort, High School and later attended Murray State University for 2 years. He worked as a coal miner for many years, he was also employed by the Carrier Mills Water Department until his retirement. He is survived by Sister: Deborah (Mike) Summers of Paducah, KY; Grandchild: Payton VanHoy of Metropolis, IL; Niece: Autumn Summers of Paducah, KY and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife: Judy VanHoy and Son: David VanHoy.
