April Sonya Trout, 61, of Carrier Mills, IL died on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at her place of residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 11 AM at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM until service time with Reverend Jonathan Stevens officiating. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills, IL. Sonya was born on April 8, 1963 in Eldorado, IL to the late Roy and Clara (Burkle) Jennings. She married Jerry Trout who preceded her in death in December 2009. Sonya worked many years as a CNA. She was attending First Christian Church in Harrisburg, IL and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sonya also enjoyed playing bingo, a pastime that honored the memory of her mother and brought her moments of happiness. She is survived by her 2 Sons: Josh (Teresa) Jennings of Carrier Mills, IL and Eric (Lindsey) Trout of Sharpe, KY; 4 Sisters: Lynn Fore of Lawrenceville, IL, Renae Irvin of Benton, IL, Margaret Reynolds of Eldorado, IL and Robbie Russell of Anna, IL; and 4 grandchildren: Ariana Jennings, Alivia Jennings, Tailynn Jennings and Knash Trout. Sonya was preceded in death by her parents: Roy and Clara (Burkle) Jennings, husband Jerry Trout and son Aaron Shane Trout.
