Arlie Eugene “Gene” Tanner, 84, of rural Creal Springs, IL died Tuesday December 29, 2020 at 11:38 am at his residence. Graveside services will be held Saturday January 2, 2021 at 1 pm at Simmons Cemetery near Creal Springs, IL. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 am until 12:30 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Reverend Rick Wall will officiate. He was born on June 5, 1936 in Creal Springs, IL to the late Joseph and Mamie (Benedict) Tanner. He was a retired truck driver and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by 2 Daughters: Tammy (Steve) Shields of Gorham, IL and Vicki (Scott) Ross of Vienna, IL; 2 Brothers: Richard (Pat) Tanner of Carrier Mills, IL and Charlie (Lynn) Tanner of New Burnside, IL; 4 Grandchildren: Emilie (Brandon) Rogowski, Caroline (Dylan) Lyell, Brittany Johnson and Jacob Ross; and 5 Great grandchildren: Elizabeth Rogowski, Olivia Rogowski, Bradyn Harris, Reinna Johnson and Charlotte Lyell. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 Sisters: Virginia Johnson and JoAnn Johnson and Brother: Deon Tanner.
