Barbara Rice

Barbara Rice, 91, of Harrisburg, IL died Wednesday August 25, 2021 at 8:44 am at the home of her daughter. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 28, 2021 at 1 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Saturday after 11 am until service time. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Barbara was born on April 17, 1930 in Carrier Mills, IL to the late Claude and Freda (Harris) Moake. She married Billie Earl Rice on July 11, 1947 and he preceded in death on March 1, 1981. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service retiring after 25 years from the Carrier Mills Post Office. She loved to work in her garden and loved the outdoors. She was also a member of the First Church of God in Marion, IL. Barbara is survived by 2 Daughters: Patricia “Patty” (Ronnie) Wells of Harrisburg, IL and Connie Lewis of Carrier Mills, IL; Brother: Jim (Alma) Moake of Murphysboro, IL; 4 Grandchildren: Clint (Rachelle) Wells of Marion, IL; Chris Dooley of Stonefort, IL; Valerie (Mark) Horton of Galatia, IL and Ryan (Bethany) Lewis of Carrier Mills, IL; 8 Great grandchildren and 1 Great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her Husband: Billie Earl Rice; 2 Sisters: Betty Beal and Geraldine Moake; Brother: David Moake; Son In Law: Dan Lewis and 5 grandchildren.
