Bessie Sue Anderson

Bessie Sue Anderson, 88, of Carrier Mills, IL died Saturday January 7, 2023 at 4:14 am at her residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 14, 2023 at 11 am at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Saturday after 9 am until service time. Reverend Charlie Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or New Birth Kingdom Church International. She was born on November 1, 1934 in Harrisburg, IL to the late Elza Blaine and Mattie (Goins-Rhine) Pringle Sr. She married Allen Anderson Sr. on June 17, 1951 and he preceded in death on September 19, 1995. Bessie was a former member of the Carrier Mills A.M.E. Baber Chapel and current member of the New Birth Kingdom Church International in Carbondale, IL. Bessie was a very generous lady, she enjoyed nurturing people especially young women in need. She also loved to walk and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by 3 Children: Allen Anderson Jr. of Aurora, IL; Michele A. Austin of Harrisburg, IL and Troy Anderson of Carrier Mills, IL; 4 Grandchildren: Nicholas Austin of Altamont, MO; Bryce Anderson of Denver, CO; Bria Waleed of Hanover Park, IL and Brandon Anderson of Chicago, IL; 4 Great Grandchildren: Connor Highsmith-Austin, Aviana “Avi” Austin, Nyle Waleed and Mikayle Waleed and Sister: Betty Mason of Harrisburg, IL, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband: Allen Anderson Sr.; Brother: Elza Pringle Jr and 3 Sisters: LeeAnn Taborn, Evelyn Messer and Lotella Thomas.
