Bobby Gene Shewmake

Bobby Gene Shewmake, 82. of Harrisburg, IL died Saturday February !2, 2022 at 12:37 pm at Marion VA Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 15, 2022 at 1 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Tuesday after 11 am until service time. Reverend David Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Garden Cemetery in Harrisburg, IL with Military Rites by the Harrisburg American Legion, Carrier Mills American Legion and the Army National Guard Ritual Team. He was born on April 27, 1939 in Simms, IL to the late Alonzo and Lena (Fields) Shewmake. He married the former Paula (Ford) Reynolds on December 29, 1965 and she survives. He worked as a telephone installer and technician for many years, until his retirement in 1991 from General Telephone Company before it was known as Verizon. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He served his country in the United States Army for more than 2.5 years. He was also a member of the Harrisburg American Legion Post 167. He is survived by his Wife: Paula Shewmake of Harrisburg, IL; 3 Sons: Anthony (Teri) Reynolds of Harrisburg, IL; Ben Shewmake of Harrisburg, IL and Marty Shewmake of Harrisburg, IL; 2 Grandchildren: Bobby (Heather) Reynolds, Brittany (Tate) Reamer; 3 Great Grandchildren: Kinzlee, Tyleigh and Millie Reynolds and 1 Great Grandchild on the way: Tinley Rae Reamer. He was preceded in death by his parents; Son: Jody Reynolds; Daughter: Sheila Reynolds and several brothers and sisters.
