Charles L. Joyner, 79, of Stonefort, IL died at 8:06 am, Sunday February 2, 2025 at his place of residence. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon on Friday February 7, 2025 at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL with Reverend Ownly Williams officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 am until service time with Masonic rites at 11:30 am. Charles was born on January 19, 1946 in Stonefort, IL to the late Harry L. Joyner and Charlene (Cummins) Joyner. He married Phyllis Kirk on August 15, 1981. After graduating high school Charles went on to work as a coal miner, millwright and farmer. He was the utmost passionate and dedicated when it came to his work. His love for cattle never faded as he enjoyed watching them graze and reminiscing right until his passing. He was also an active member of both the Carrier Mills Sons of the American Legion Post #364 and Stonefort Masonic Lodge Post #495. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Joyner of Stonefort, IL; 3 Daughters: Marnia (Russell) Hunt and Michelle (Britt) Nolen, both of Carrier Mills, IL and Marsha Cochran of Marion, IL; 2 Sons: Charles (Jeri-Lyn) Joyner of Simpson, IL and Jason (Tianna) Kirk of Carrier Mills, IL; 2 Brothers: Jerry (Teri) Joyner of Stonefort, IL and Lee Joyner of Carrier Mills, IL; 3 Sisters: Toni Lamb of Maryville, IL, Mona (Steve) Purdy and Ursula Martin, both of Stonefort, IL; 2 Sisters-in-Law: Beth Cummins of Elko, NV and Ann Joyner of Stonefort, IL; along with 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Harry L. and Charlene (Cummins) Joyner; 2 Brothers: Steve Cummins and Joshua Joyner; 2 Brothers-in-Law: Bill Lamb and Bill Martin; and great-grandson Shephard Feazel.
