Charles Henry McDonald, 88, of Stonefort, IL died Monday August 26, 2019 at 12:46 pm at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home. Memorials services will be held Saturday October 12, 2019 at 11 am at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Dellwood, IL. Military rites will be performed by the Carrier Mills American Legion, Harrisburg American Legion and VFW and the Army National Guard Ritual Team. There will be no visitation all family and friends should go directly to the Cemetery. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL is assisting the family with the details. He was born on June 16, 1931 in Blytheville, Arkansas to the late Charles and Ivery (Snow) McDonald. He married the former Sharon Travis in 1991 in Paducah, Kentucky and she survives. He was a retired Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He attained the rank of Sergeant First Class before his retirement. After his retirement from the military he enjoyed the outdoors where he loved to do carpentry and masonry work. He is survived by his Wife: Sharon McDonald of Stonefort, IL; Daughter: Marsha Gardener of Richmond, Vermont; 4 Sons: Roger Adams of Stonefort, IL, Rodney Adams of Harrisburg, IL, Clint Personette of Harrisburg, IL, and Jamie Clifton of Harrisburg, IL; Sister: Margaret Spradling of Mississippi; Niece: Kay Hathaway; Nephew: David Hutchcraft of Harrisburg, IL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Son: Danny McDonald; Sister: Ruth Ann Hutchcraft; and 2 Brothers: Jerry McDonald and Lloyd McDonald.
