Charles Evans Witherspoon, 70, of Carrier Mills, IL died Wednesday November 23, 2022 at 7:00 pm at his residence. Memorial graveside services will be held Saturday December 3, 2022 at 11 am at Lakeview Cemetery in Carrier Mills, IL. There will be no visitation, all friends and family should go directly to the cemetery. Reverend Ownly Williams will officiate. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL is assisting the family with details. He was born on December 2, 1951 in Evansville, IN. He was raised by Sam and Lina (Cole) Witherspoon. He was a graduate of Carrier Mills/Stonefort High School, He worked many years at different coal mines in the area and was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the Lakeview Community. He is survived by his Son: Dustan Witherspoon of Carrier Mills, IL; Brother: Willie McGuire of Elkville, IL; 4 Sisters: Betty Young of Anaheim, CA; Virginia (Preston) Stallings; Crystal Huntley and Valerie (Melvin) Glover-McCoy all of Toledo, OH. And several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; Sister: Melodye Wehrung; and 3 Brothers: Chester Briscoe Jr; Bobby McGuire and Donnie Posey.
