David G. Barger

David Barger, 80, of New Burnside, IL died at 3:57 pm on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at his place of residence. His wishes were to be cremated. Felty Funeral Home of Carrier Mills, IL is assisting the family with arrangements. Further details will be added at a later date. David was born on July 26, 1944 in Broughton, IL to the late Mildred “Butch” and Linda (Warren) Barger. He worked as an Equipment Operator for many years. He spent an impressive 50 years as a member of IUOE Local 318, then later worked in the coal mines. David truly enjoyed his work and found his passion working in machinery. David is survived by his 2 Daughters: Kathy (Chris) Horn of Creal Springs, IL and Deborah (Mick) Cluster of State College, PA; Son: David Barger Jr. of Harrisburg, IL; Grandchildren: J.R. Morrison, Jacob Morrison, Hunter Poole, Rachael Prather, Tabitha DeTemple, Talina Lutz, Jeremy Cluster, Michael Cluster, Jaron Barger and Mason Barger; and Sister: Sue Jackson of Eddyville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mildred “Butch” and Linda (Warren) Barger and grandson, Justice Barger.
