David Paul Taborn, 60, of Carrier Mills, IL died Sunday September 26, 2021 at 11:30 am at his residence. Funeral services will be held Thursday September 30, 2021 at 12 noon at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Thursday after 10 am until service time. Reverend Jerry Huckleberry will officiate. Burial will be in Taborn Cemetery in Carrier Mills, IL which is located on David's property at 795 Taborn Road. David was born on April 15, 1961 in Harrisburg, IL to the late Lorenzo and Christine (Gibbs) Taborn. David was employed by Walgreens in Mt. Vernon, IL where he worked for several years. David graduated from Carrier Mills/Stonefort High School in 1979. He was a integral part of the basketball team that competed in the state tournament that year. His talents took him on to John A. Logan Community College to play basketball. David loved to hunt and also loved cross county cycling making several trips including a trip from Cairo, IL to Chicago, IL. He also loved spending time with his friends and family. He was a very kind, warm and caring man. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. David is survived by a Brother: Dean (Debra) Taborn of Goreville, IL; Sister: Ramona Williams of Louisville, KY; 3 Sister In Laws: Diane Taborn of Harrisburg, IL; Carol Taborn of Carrier Mills, IL and Caroline Taborn of Kentucky; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Lorenzo and Christine Taborn; 7 Brothers: Orville Taborn, Dahl Taborn, Tyrone Taborn, Terry Taborn, Don L. Taborn, Bruce Taborn and Kelly Taborn and 3 Sisters: Marlice Crittendon, Pauline Curry and Ruth Ann Taborn.
