Donal Sumner Jr, 71, of Harrisburg, IL died Tuesday February 14, 2023 at 2:45 am at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. His wishes were to be cremated. There are no services scheduled at this time. He was born on November 16, 1951 in Harrisburg, IL to the late Donal and Peggy (Cole) Sumner. He married the former Kathy Durham on May 27, 1977 and she preceded in death on November 6, 2018. He retired from Peabody Coal Company after many years of employment. He was a member of AME Baber Chapel in Carrier Mills, IL. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He is survived by 3 Brothers: Lanny (Teddi) Sumner of Carrier Mills, IL; Brian Sumner of Carrier Mills, IL and Michael Sumner of Harrisburg, IL; Sister: Paula Sumner of Harrisburg, IL and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; Wife: Kathy Sumner; Sister: Wendy Neal; and 2 Brothers: Kevin Sumner and Mark Sumner.
