Emma L. Horton, 82, of Carrier Mills, IL died Saturday November 27, 2021 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. Funeral services will be held Thursday December 2, 2021 at 12 noon at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held after 10 am until service time. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery and Reverend Blake Clayton will officiate. She was born on April 24, 1939 in Harrisburg, IL to the late Thomas Jeffrey and Eula O. (Stout) Futrell. She married Bob D. Horton on May 1, 1958 and he preceded in death on December 13, 2009. She was a graduate of Harrisburg High School class of 1957. She attended the New Life Christian Center in Equality, IL. She was a homemaker and caregiver, taking care of others was her passion. She is survived by 2 Daughters: Reva (Ralph) Ditterline of Harrisburg, IL and Vickie (Justin) Smith of Harrisburg, IL; 2 Sons: Jeff (Tammy) Horton of Carrier Mills, IL and Zane (Ashley) Horton of Carrier Mills, IL; Son In Law: Paul Steapleton of Harrisburg, IL; 6 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband: Bob D. Horton; Daughter: Jenny Steapleton; Son: Steven Ray Horton and several brothers and sisters.
