Ethel Elizabeth Starnes

Ethel Elizabeth Scott Starnes, 87, of Carrier Mills, IL was called home to be with Jesus on Wednesday October 10, 2018 at 10:05 am at her residence surrounded by her family singing her favorite song “He Touched Me”.   Funeral services will be held Friday October 12, 2018 at 10 am at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Friday after 9 am until service time. Reverend Mark Hiltibidal will officiate. Cremation will follow and burial will be at a later date in Floyd, Virginia.   She was born on June 20, 1931 in Browns Mills, New Jersey to the late Oliver and Alice (Ford) Sager.   She married John Garnet Scott Sr and he preceded in death. She later married Robert Starnes Sr. on November 20, 1990 and he survives.   Ethel loved to fish and the outdoors as well as taking care of her kids and grandkids. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Raleigh, IL.   She is survived by her Husband: Robert Starnes Sr of Carrier Mills, IL; 4 Children: Walter Scott of Piedmont, SC; John Scott Jr; Elouise Chase of Pennsylvania and James Scott of Easley, SC; 3 Stepchildren: Annetta Pate of Marysville, WA; Robert Starnes Jr of Harrisburg, IL and Robin Haney of Harrisburg, IL and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her first husband: John Scott Sr; Son: Wyatt Scott Sr and Lavena Gschwandters.   Ethel was a woman of great strength and faith in Jesus. All those who knew her were blessed. She is our loss but Heavens gain.
