Faye A. Taylor, 87, of Carrier Mills, IL died on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, IL. Funeral services will begin at 11 AM on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until service time. Faye was born on January 22, 1937, to the late Ellis and Geneva (Rouse) Evans of Carrier Mills, IL. She married Dean Taylor, who preceded her in death. She spent some time at college, then worked as a System Analyst and Computer Programmer at the Department of Defense in San Francisco, CA for many years. Faye was an avid Jazz listener. She also enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a member of Galilee Baptist Church, but also attended Landmark House of Praise both in Carrier Mills, IL. She is survived by her 2 Daughters: Gaye Taylor of Harrisburg, IL and Demona Flowers of Carrier Mills, IL; Sister: Ronzell McFarlin of Augsta, GA; 4 Grandchildren: Risi Agbabiaka, Rashidath Agbabiaka, Daryl Prater Jr. and George Pritchett; 3 Great-grandchildren; 1 Great-great-grandchild; along with several: nieces, nephews and cousins. Faye was preceded in death by her Parents: Ellis and Geneva (Rouse) Evans; Husband Dean Taylor; Daughter: Chandra Denae Taylor-Stewart; 3 Sisters: Gloria Floyd, Frances Blackwell and Bonita Evans; 2 Brothers: Ellis Evans Jr. and Donald Evans; and Granddaughter: Charletta Pritchett.
