George Henry Meistrell Jr.

George Henry Meistrell Jr., 70, of New Burnside, IL died Monday April 1, 2024 at his residence. Memorial graveside services will be held Thursday April 11, 2024 at 11 am at Joyner Cemetery near Stonefort, IL. There will be no visitation all friends should go directly to the cemetery. Reverend Jeff Owens will officiate. Military rites will be performed by the U.S. Navy and the Carrier Mills and Harrisburg Legions and VFW's. George was born on April 9, 1953 in Sacramento, CA to the late George Henry and Eleanor (Newman) Meistrell Sr. He married the former Joy Ferris on July 17, 1976 and she survives. George retired from Aisin Manufacturing in Marion, IL. He loved to fish, travel, do woodworking and spend time in the outdoors. He was a Navy Veteran and a member of the Carrier Mills American Legion Post 364. George is survived by his Wife: Joy Meistrell of New Burnside, IL; Brother: Ed (Patty) Meistrell of San Francisco, CA; Sister: Patty (Todd) Gregorio of Sacramento, CA; Stepsister: Myra Bowling of Mesa, AZ; Brother In Laws: Pat (Carrie) Ferris of Darby, Montana; Terry (Kim) Fry of Harrisburg, IL and Tracy (Sarah) Fry of Ozark, IL and his Faithful Companion: Bella. George was preceded in death by his parents; Son: Mike Pawlonek; and Brother In Law: Mike Ferris.
