Glenn L. Phillips

Glenn L. Phillips, 94, of Goreville, IL formerly of New Burnside, IL; died Thursday July 11, 2019 at 9:15 pm at his residence.   Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 17, 2019 at 3 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held after 1 pm on Wednesday until service time. Military rites will be held by the Carrier Mills and Harrisburg American Legions and the United States Navy. Cremation will follow. Burial will be in Drake Cemetery at a later date.   He was born on October 3, 1924 in Marion, IL to the late Harvey and Etta (Conley) Phillips.   He was a World War II Navy Veteran. He later retired as a Civilian employee of the Army.   He is survived by 4 Children: Glenda (Paul) Griner of Goreville, IL; Sherry (Robert) Plyler of New Burnside, IL; Terry (Paula) Phillips of Cordova, Alaska and Robin Baker of Whittier, Alaska; Sister: Geraldine Drew of Vienna, IL; 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Wife: Betty Phillips and 3 Sisters: Wilma Shaw, Violet Phillips and Fay Simmons.
