Janice Fay Felty, 74, of Carrier Mills, IL died Sunday September 10, 2023 at 12:35 am at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, IL. Funeral services will be held Thursday September 14, 2023 at 11 am at the Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm at the church. Reverend Jerry Wells and Reverend Bernie Cowgill will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL is assisting the family with the details. Janice was born on January 27, 1949 in Eldorado, IL to the late Earl Edward and Roberta (Davis) Vaughn. She married James Terry Felty on March 24, 1968 and he survives. She graduated Flora High School in 1967, she received an Associate degree from SIC in 1989, an Bachelors degree in social work from SIU in 1991 and a Masters degree from Eastern Illinois University in 2002. She was a member of the Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church, Illinois PTA and the Saline County Home Extension. She retired from the WOVSED as a retired school social worker. Janice enjoyed camping, going on boat rides, doing crafts and going to gospel concerts. She is survived by her Husband: James Terry Felty of Carrier Mills, IL; 3 Children: Angela Bennett of Harrisburg, IL; Gina (A.J.) Smith of Harrisburg, IL and Chad Felty of Carrier Mills, IL; Twin Brother: Gerald (Diane) Vaughn of Flora, IL; Sister: Susan Vaughn of Sardis, OH; 5 Grandchildren: Bryant (Scarlett) Bennett, Damon Nelson, Cassidy Bennett, Eli Felty and Zoey Felty and 4 Great Grandchildren: Everly Bennett, Elvie Bennett, Emmerlynn Bennett and Paisleigh Bennett. She was preceded in death by her parents and a Granddaughter: Audrey Bennett.
